Zimmer responded by calling the petitioners criminals and accusing them of attempting to undermine justice in Kern County. She stated that she immediately recused herself and her office from involvement in the case of former Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner, who is accused of molesting his daughter and abusing his children. The next step of the recall process involves giving Zimmer time to respond to the recall, and requiring 10% of the registered voters in the county to sign.
