Demi Dominguez, a 23-year-old mother of two, died at the age of 23 and was about to give birth to her first child when she was tragically diagnosed with high blood pressure and died. Her son, Malakhi, was delivered by emergency C-section but died hours later. The deaths were the subject of a wrongful-death trial, which resulted in former OB-GYN Arthur Park being found negligent for both deaths. Tracy Domingez began advocating for changes to California's medical malpractice damages law long before the verdict, knowing the changes would not apply to her family's case. For patient advocate Michele Monserratt-Ramos, Demi's legacy is that every mom deserves safe care.
