This comes after CSUB announced they will not be returning head coach Jeremy Beard. VerduGo, who finished fourth in the conference with an ERA of 2.72 and third in strikeouts with 93.9, could decide to go pro if he is drafted.

California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) baseball is losing another key part of their club as runners ace Ryan Verdugo enters the transfer portal to sign with Kentucky. This comes shortly after the program announced they will not be bringing back head coach Jeremy Beard.
Verdugo earned All-Big West Conference second team honors this season, pitching a conference high of 89.1 innings. He finished fourth in conference with an ERA of 2.72, finishing third in strikeouts with 93. Verdugo was awarded back-to-back big west pitcher of the week nods, setting a CSUB record in the process, pitching seven innings without giving up a hit.
He could decide to go pro if he's drafted.
