Lamont celebrates completion of new sidewalks
The latest public works project in Lamont brought sidewalks to the neighborhood off of Di Giorgio Road. Lamont, an unincorporated, predominantly farmworker community, has celebrated the completion of new sidewalks in front of 260 homes. The improvements were installed at a tape-cutting ceremony on Di Giorgio Road and Rose Street, providing a safe space for families to walk, and reducing flooding by installing storm drainage and reducing dust in the street. The Comite Progreso de Lamont, led by president Diana Mireles, led the effort, with ten completed. The project is part of a 55 million dollar investment in Lamont.
