BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield law enforcement officers are taking to the streets to show off some hot rides.

Motorcycle officers from the Bakersfield Police Department and California Highway Patrol will go head-to-head Saturday, March 16 in a motor competition.

One officer in particular, Nicole Madsen, is one of two female motor officers.

“This is so cool and it’s an honor to be one of the only female officers in the department as a motor officer,” Madsen told 17 News. “I mean, it took a lot of work, me and my partner worked our butts off to get here, and it’s such a privilege and honor to be out here representing the department and the city being a law officer.”

It all happens at 8 a.m. at The Park at River Walk in southwest Bakersfield. Admission is free, and food vendors will be available.
