The stolen page, which Zach Skow lost 15 years of work and was instrumental in the rescue efforts. Marley’s Mutts has regained its original Facebook page and its 760,000 followers. Skow thanked the team at Meta for their efforts to recover the page.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A popular Kern County animal rescue is has recovered what was stolen by scammers late last year.

Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue in Tehachapi said it has regained control of a Facebook page it used for organizing, communication and fundraising after it got taken over by scammers.

17 News reported in January, Zach Skow lost 15 years of work when the scammers took over the Facebook page. It’s an essential lifeline for many dogs in need in Kern County.

On Monday, Marley’s Mutts said it was able to reclaim its original Facebook page and its 760,000 followers.

Skow said after three months he was beginning to lose hope, but he thanked “the wonderful team at Meta” for their work on recovering the page.
