The restrictions include washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, and other mobile equipment. The city has also advised residents to adjust their watering time to late evening or early morning. The City of McFarland is asking residents to restrict their use of water as the city is in a Stage 2 Water Shortage.
The City of McFarland said in a social media post on June 10, “We Kindly ask for your cooperation in this crucial effort to ensure the sustainability of our community's water resources.”
A photo attached to the post said the following are restricted in accordance with the water conservation schedule:
• Washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, and other mobile equipment.
The city is asking residents to adjust watering time to late evening or early morning.
The city said washing of sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, courtyards, patios, or other paved surfaces are prohibited.
Failure to follow the ordinance is subject to fines.
